Design Challenge 2 Revisited

I just couldn't leave this one alone. I was not satisfied with the green and yellow one (it might have been the colors). This pink and purple one is more like what I wanted -- that larger gap between the large rings and the attached small rings on the outer edge. It's made from DMC Cebelia size 30. I even wrote down what I did! It needs a diagram and the instructions transcribed from the pencil scribbles, but then I can share it if anyone is interested. It does make a peachy Christmas ornament. I made this red and green variegated one from DMC size 80 tatting thread. Right now it's just pinned on my testing ornament for pictures. I'm thinking it might look better sitting on the ornament sides instead of top and bottom.

It's beautiful. I just love it as an ornament, but I think you're right that it would look prettier on the side instead of to and bottom. Totally awesome.

Thanks, Tattichchic. I leave the books to the professionals (and those people who have the ability to compress time). What few patterns I've created I've just posted for anyone to have. Book-making is too much work (unless it's a blank book -- I've done those!)

I would be interested in the pattern for your design challenge 2 if you still want to share it. Will it be posted later? I think it looks so cool on the tree bulb to.

Barbara, I posted the pattern for the top of the ornament in this blog on September 25, 2008. There is also a diagram that you can click on to get a larger version. I never did make a pattern for the bottom of the tree ornament that shows in this post, though.
