Jon's Quantiesque Snowflake

A colorful rendition of Jon's Quantiesque Snowflake (click here for the pattern). However, I think all this color detracts from the beauty of the design. Size 10 Opera tie-dyed by my sister makes this snowflake four inches in diameter. I forgot to put in "magic threads" so the ends are waiting for sewing-in. They may wait a long time, because it seems they might be used for tying the snowflake to a Christmas tree -- maybe. This is a pattern I certainly want to try again, in colors more suitable to showing off the pattern. Thanks, Jon!

So your sister tie dyes opera thread or the name of the thread is "tie dyed by my sister"! LOL! ;)
Everybody's doin' the quanti!!!

You're welcomed Marty.

Sometimes, when I look at a design, I was attracted more to the white space rather than the design itself. In this case, maybe the riot of colours in the thread does not matter much.

While the color does soften the details of the design itself, I love the thread! I suspect if you used white or a solid for the 2nd piece that it would stand out more, showing off both the design and the thread.

I love the thread and agree with Jon about the negative spaces. I also think you would like it a lot in a different thread. This snowflake is addictive!

It looks very dramatic in that thread and I quite like the effect.
