Iris TIAS Doily

I finally finished the whole doily. It's an amazingly gorgeous design. We're so lucky to have Iris share it with us! I have to make another one of these (one? maybe two or three or more; it's addictive).
I didn't complete it in the original pink and maroon that I started with. The center picots weren't joined and I didn't want to do some kind of retro-stitching at the end. That piece will be a decoration instead. Ha. The whole truth is that I got all this new Lizbeth thread and had to try it out. It's so much smoother and more crisp to work with than the Cebelia. Really. Now I have lots of size 20 thread! These two are Leaf Green (the variegate) and Christmas Green.
It seemed appropriate to post this bit 'o green for St. Patrick's Day.

Ooh, this is very very pretty, Marty. The white and greens go very well together. Good job!

Uauhh, in this colors it looks georgeous. Thank you so much for having it worked, it makes me so happy you liked it. As somebody asked for easter egg decoration, would you like to try to use only the inner shuttle motif for an egg, like you did it for the cristmas balls?

This is beautiful Marty. I am so glad to see it completed. This encourages me to start over and complete it. I was also wondering about using variegated thread. This one certainly works. Thanks for sharing.

Marty, This is so pretty... you've already completed it! I've got to buck up now.

I love the color combo, I should also try Lizbeth thread now, I am getting a lot of good reviews on it.

Thanks, everyone. My sister's favorite color is green. She's coveting this one, so I might just give it to her.
Iris, I would like to try using the shuttle motif to go around an ornament. I think it might work for a round Christmas ornament as well as an egg-shaped one. I'll certainly have to try it an see.
