25 Motif Challenge Numbers 12 and 13

Halfway through my ornament challenge...any the year is almost up. Ah, well, I may not make it -- fortunately there is no penalty. :)

These two are adaptations of Mary Konior's Spinning Wheel Glass Mat. One ornament is 2.5 inches and the other is about 1.75 inches in diameter. Both are made with white perle cotton and lots of little green glass beads. Just to be different, I pinned them to the ornament with sequins under the pins. I'm still deciding if I like that or not. I do think the pattern looks really good wrapped around an ornament. I might have to make more.

I'm so impressed with your skill at taking a flat motif and making it 3D. I know how to make a motif "cup" by just leaving out a repeat, but to have them always come out with the perfect curve to cover a ball is really amazing.

Miranda, you'd be amazed at how well you can get something to fit with a little stretching or scrunching and a nicely placed pin!

I really like that idea and the beads finish it off nicely!

I had the same thought as Miranda.

I have never tatted one of these but this makes me want to try it. It looks grand and the pinning appeals, as I am not sure about the fit of the other method...

Your ornaments look beautiful! I think it will take me forever to get an ornament the way I think it should look.
